For Valentine's Day, he took me flying. Today, we did it without the plane, on the Xtreme Skyflyer. It was SO MUCH FUN (after I got over the being scared part).
him: Are you going to pull the cord?
me: Yeah.
him: Are you sure?
me: Yes. What's the big deal? What's so hard about pulling a cord?
him: You say that now, but wait till you're up there. It's not going to be so easy to pull the cord that's going to make you fall.
me: I'd rather come down than be stuck up there forever.
Pulling the cord was easy. I don't know why everyone was so freaked out about it. But yeah, I latched onto J right after I let go of the cord.
I've wanted to do this every time I've been to Great America, but no one ever wanted to go with me and I wasn't going to do it alone. I forget what brought on this discussion this morning, but something did, and we decided to just do it. Yay for spontaneity. Today was so much fun, fun we both needed.
It's been years since I've been to a theme park, and we've never been to one together. We got 2007 Season Passes, which can be used for the rest of this year too. It was only $13 more than regular admission price, and comes with free parking (normally $10). Since summer's pretty much over and everyone's back in school, we didn't have to wait in line for most of the rides, and the ones that did have lines weren't that long.
We went for the Skyflyer, but went on roller coasters first because after the free-falling thrill, the other rides wouldn't feel as exciting. Plus I had to build up the courage to get on it. We started off on Top Gun (rode in the front), and then went on the Demon and the Grizzly (also rode in the front). I love being tossed around on rickety roller coasters. And Drop Zone. The current 3-D action-adventure feature at the FX Theater was SpongeBob SquarePants *g*.
I wanted to go on Rip Roaring Rapids, but it was closed by the time we got to it :(
Oh well, we have season passes and can go back anytime. And I finally got to do the Skyflyer! When we go back, we're going to do it again, but at night.
